Metal Church - Discografia

Formada em Seattle em 1982, o Metal Church consistia do vocalista David Wayne, guitarristas Kurdt Vanderhoof e Craig Wells, o baixista Duke Erickson e o baterista Kirk Arrington. Seu álbum homônimo de 1985, gravado quando o gênero thrash/speed metal ainda estava evoluindo, chamou atenção na cena, assim como o álbum seguinte, “The Dark”. Entretanto, a banda realmente acertou o passo quando Wayne saiu e foi substituído por Mike Howe no “Blessing in Disguise” de 1989; Vanderhoof saiu após este álbum por sua aversão a turnês e foi substituído pelo técnico em guitarra do Metallica, John Marshall. Vanderhoof ficou como compositor designado do grupo no “The Human Factor” de 1991, possivelmente o álbum mais socialmente direcionado da banda. Porém, o advento do rock alternativo e problemas com sua gravadora contribuiram para uma perda de direção no “Hanging in the Balance” de 1993, e então o Metal Church acabou desbandando. Em 1999, a formação original do grupo - Wayne, Vanderhoof, Wells, Erickson e Arrington - reuniu-se e lançou o álbum “Masterpeace”. “Live” apareceu no começo do ano seguinte.
