Hypocrisy - Discografia

Tudo começou em 1991, quando Peter mandou a primeira demo da banda para algumas gravadoras. A Nuclear Blast imediatamente percebeu o enorme potencial do conjunto e ofereceu a eles um contrato. Todos os álbuns lançados – do primeiro, “Penetralia”, de 1992 até o já citado “The Final Chapter” de 1997 – fizeram do Hypocrisy uma das mais cultadas bandas do underground sueco. “The Final Chapter” além de colocar o som da banda no mundo todo, ainda foi responsável por uma série de shows pelos EUA e Europa, incluindo uma apresentação do Milwaukee Metalfest. Nos EUA a banda aproveitou a oportunidade para ainda gravar o seu primeiro videoclipe. Com os dois próximos álbuns, “Hypocrisy Destroys Wacken” e “Into the Abyss”, revelaram todo o sucesso da banda: a produção impecável por parte de Peter Tägtgren. Antes do sucesso todo, foi lançado seis discos (incluindo um EP). Após “The Final Chapter”, além dos já citados CD ao vivo e o “Into the Abyss”, a banda aproveitou o embalo para lançar o seu primeiro VHS, também intitulado “Hypocrisy Destroys Wacken”, e um documentário em CD, intitulado “10 Years of Chãos and Confusion” – celebrando o décimo aniversário da banda, em 2001. Ao participar do Nuclear Blast Festival Tour na Europa, ao lado de grandes nomes como Kataklysm e Destruction, o Hypocrisy estava marcando toda a preparação do lançamento do seu maior disco até então, “Catch 22”. A combinação do death metal com pequenas levadas de modern rock e punk rock, e músicas como”Don’t Judge Me”, “Destroyed”, “A Public Puppet” são alguns exemplos de boa repercussão deste álbum.
