Kreator - Discografia

A Europa dos anos 80, e início dos 90, foi berço de muitas bandas pioneiras de death e thrash metal. Depois do Venom, o pai do black metal, e do Hellhammer, surgiu o Kreator, uma das bandas mais respeitadas de metal das duas últimas décadas. Juntamente com suas contemporâneas Bathory, Destruction e Sodom, se tornou influência de muitas outras que se formaram depois. Emperor, Samel e Rotting Christ são alguns exemplos. Em meados de 1983 é formado o Tormentor, na cidade de Essen (Alemanha), composto por Mille Petrozza, o guitarrista Tommy Vetterli e o baterista Ventor Reil.

Em 84 o Tormentor lança uma demo chamada "End of the World" com as músicas "Armies Of Hell", "Tormentor", "Cry War" e "Bone Breaker". No ano seguinte, época conhecida por "German Thrash Explosion", e já com o nome da banda mudado para Kreator, é produzido o primeiro álbum, "Endless Pain". O disco se torna um marco do thrash metal e o Kreator é considerado uma das mais rápidas e pesadas bandas da época, por isso seu estilo foi também chamado de speed metal. Lançado pela gravadora Noise Records (Running Wild, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Celtic Frost, Voivod, Destruction, Hellhammer e Bathory), o álbum contou com a produção de Horst Muller, que já produziu as bandas Deliverance, Celtic Frost e também o próprio Hellhammer.
